Albania and Kosovo will organize a joint “Fair of Trade” within this year, aiming to promote Made in Albania products in the respective markets. Official sources from the Ministry of Economic Development have confirmed the news, adding that the fair will also focus on the promotion of Kosovo’s mountainous tourism and the Albanian Riviera, as potential touristic countries.
After the second joint meeting of the two governments in Tirana on March 23rd, the Albanian Ministry of Economic Development declared that both countries will establish permanent team works which will work in easing the trade procedures between the two countries and reducing the barriers in this regard.
The tasks which this permanent team work must meet according to the reached agreement between Kosovo and Albania include the unification of the Custom points and product certification, the recognition of the certification of products’ origin and quality stamps, the reference price for the protection of the competition, ect.
One of the current government’s priorities is the increase and the boost of trade exchanges with Kosovo, aiming to expand the “Made in Albania products” market, a development that will have significant positive outcomes in both countries’ economies.
The long-term agreement reached between the two countries on March 23rd must be implemented in its first stages within July 15th of this year, according to official sources from the Ministry of Economic Development. Its aim is to protect the Albanian and Kosovar companies’ interests, the fair competition and the increase of trade volume between Albania and Kosovo.
