On February 7th, the Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, welcomed in a meeting the Regional Governor of Epirus, Aleksandros Kachrimanis and the Greek Ambassador in Albania, Leondas Rokanas. The high ranked officials discussed about the possible ways Albania and Epirus can cooperate in fields of agriculture, food and agroprocessing industry.
The Minister of Agriculture, Panariti said that the establishment of joint enterprises in the agriculture field located along the border will be one of the government’s priorities. In turn, the Regional Governor of Epirus supported such idea and ensured that the Greek government will support such initiatives. The Epirus Governor said his government will ease and reduce the procedures for Albanian seasonal employees that work in the agriculture and agroprocessing fields in Greece.
In conclusion, the two countries’ representatives pledged to organize joint business forums in order to discuss cooperation opportunities in the agriculture, fruit-growing and medicinal plants fields.
