“Albania 2016” international furniture fair held in Tirana

Albanian and international furniture producers showcased their products at the “Albania 2016” international furniture fair held at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana. The fair was opened for the public from March 11^th to March 14^th. According to the organizers, about 90% of booths at the fair showcased Made in Albania products of wood processing factories and furniture companies from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, ect.

Most of the showcased products were of European Union standards, products that are competing with imports and whose exports to international markets have increased, according to the organizers. This is the 13^th edition of the International Furniture Fair, organized by the Albanian Association of Furniture Producers in cooperation with Albexpo Group.

During the three day fair, the attending companies participated in b2b meetings and meetings with experts in the field.

Statistics from the Albanian Institute of Statistics show that currently there are 1900 active businesses in the furniture producing sector, 60% of which are small businesses and the remaining are large businesses.
