Albanian Electrical Energy Corporation has started the process of paying the outstanding debts to the small electrical energy producer plants, accumulated since February 2014. The news announced by the Ministry of Energy on December 11 through a press release.
“During the last days the AEEC has liquidated an amount of $11 ml to small electrical energy plants but there is yet to pay since the total amount of the debt is $60 ml. As predicted, the AEEC will liquidate the entire amount within April 2015,” is stated in the press release report.
According to the Ministry officials, the payment of bills in 2015 will be done at a real time with the support of a monitoring mechanism, in the framework of the sector’s revival project. This mechanism aims the well management of corporations in this sector and the increase of liquidity.
“The liquidation of outstanding debts to the small electrical energy producers will have a positive impact in the improvement of the sector. A positive effect will also have the decision of the government to standardize the electrical energy price of private producers in the market parameters, with the aim to avoid the accumulation of debts,” says the announcement of the Ministry.
