The annual report of the Corporate Social Responsibility published on Tuesday, June 16, by the Albanian Association of Banks shows that private banks in the country played a crucial role in contributing for the society.
According to the report, second tier banks donated more than EUR 1 million during 2014, a contribute to social and environmental projects. Present in the ceremony organized by the AAB were many heads and representatives of second tier banks in Albania.
The report cites the importance of banks’ contribute during the past year, considering it as “a decisive year for raising awareness about the corporate social responsibilities.”
More than 150 local projects of social or environmental projects proposed by the local governmental units or nonprofit organizations have benefited from the projects of banks and more than 3500 employees have been engaged in these projects, in the framework of the CSR.
In their words, the organizers of the ceremony said that banks have been among the first corporations to understand the importance of integrating social and environmental issues with their business practices by donating and launching voluntary actions and campaigns in benefit to people in need.
