On October 1st the Ministry of Agriculture made the second call for Albanian farmers to apply for SARED grant scheme, a funding scheme that is being implemented by GIZ presence in Albania. The grant is a program financed jointly by the Danish and German governments in order to help the country’s agriculture sector to reach its strategic objectives based on the Albania’s Crosscutting Strategy of Rural Development for 2014-2020. The deadline set for the second call of applications is set January 29, 2016 and the implementation of SARED scheme will continue until May 2018.
Until May 2018, SARED grant scheme will provide an amount of EUR 6.5 ml for Albanian farmers in the regions of Shkodra, Kukesi, Dibra, Elbasan, Berat, and Korca. The grant aims to assist farmers in activities such as production, gathering, agro – processing and the marketing of agricultural products. All applicants should submit their application form in person at the Regional Directory of Agriculture and the application file should contain the form of application, the business plan and other requirements.
SARED grant scheme aims to increase the economic sustainability in remote alpine areas in the above mentioned regions which have a disadvantage compared to other regions. The scheme’s goal is to generate growth and have an impact in a broad base in the agriculture sector of these regions. The grant scheme also gives importance to the development of rural tourism.
