The head of the National Agency of Natural Resources Dael Dervishi has announced that the government will apply a new economic model in allocating taxes from companies working in the oil and gas sector.
According to Dervishi, the NANR has undertaken several inspections in this sector in order to reduce the informality and identify frauds by companies. The National Agency of Natural Resources has revoked 30 concessionary permissions for hydropower plants during 2015. The NANR is working in digitizing the entire monitoring systems and in reducing the bureaucracies for new companies and investors.
Dervishi also declared that the NANR has compiled a list of companies that have not paid the VAT since 2012, which will pay their obligations according to the law.
In years, many foreign and Albanian companies have exercised activity in the oil and gas field in Albania by not contributing to the state budget. The NANR and the government are taking in consideration several economic models as the ones applied in Croatia, Egypt or other countries.
