Albanian Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Edmond Haxhinasto held a meeting in Tirana with representatives of CRRC, the biggest Chinese railway construction company, where he stated that Albania is paying an important attention to the development of railways in the country.
Haxhinasto stated that the Ministry is working to conclude an agreement for implementing a new railway system that will connect Tirana city with Tirana International Airport and Durres city, within the mandate of the current government. In addition, the Ministry is conducting a feasibility study for the entire railway system in Albania which will identify the main problems of it and will determine the easiest manners for connecting with neighboring countries’ railway systems such as Kosovo and Macedonia.
In turn, the representatives of CRRC expressed their interest to invest in Albania, particularly in the railway system. CRRC Company is the most known company in the Asian markets for its high tech railway equipment and materials.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure declared that the Albanian government has made huge efforts in improving the business climate in the country and the increase of interest by foreign companies, as CRRC company lately.
