After rumors spread in the media for a possible new taxation scheme by the government which would set an income tax for minimum wages, these claims disproved by the Ministry of Finances. In a press conference, the Vice Minister of Finances Erjon Luci declared that there will not be changes in the taxation scheme of the tax on incomes, especially for minimum wages.
However, as approved by the Vice Minister the Ministry is compiling a new draft law to strengthen the fight against informality and fiscal evasion. “During July we hired 500 new employees which are working to prevent the fiscal evasion”, declared Luci. According to him, the Ministry will soon propose a new package of measures in fighting these negative phenomena which hamper the economic growth.
Regarding the draft law which predicts changes in the taxation scheme, the vise Minister declared that such a draft exists but it is being discussed with experts in the technical aspect and not in the political aspect. The Ministry of Finances will take any measure for preventing and fighting the informality and the fiscal evasion, ended his press declaration Vice Minister of Finances Erjon Luci.
