Albania will receive a EUR 6.6 ml grant from the Swiss government as financial assistance for the increase of capacities for the gasification process of the country. The loan agreement comes in the framework of TAP project which will be implemented in the country and it aims to increase the necessary capacities in public institutions.
The grant will also update the legal framework of Albania in this regard and the technical framework as well. From this grant, EUR 6 million will be used for advisory services and for the increase of gasification capacities while EUR 600.000 will be used for financial audits and studies.
TAP project will link Albania with the international network of gas suppliers and it will support the establishment of South Corridor of Gas in the Southeastern Europe. This grant will establish capacities that will give Albania the means to manage huge scale gas infrastructure projects and to implement the TAP project.
