The industry sector is still the main sector which contributes in the external trade, by exporting more than other sectors of the economy. The statistics conducted in a latest report issued on Friday by the Institute of Statistics show that enterprises working in the industry sector exported about 83% of the total amount of exports in 2014.
“External trade of merchandise based on enterprises’ characteristics, 2011-2014” report underlines that exports of the industry sector increased by 21, 4% during the past year, compared to exports in 2011. Enterprises which exercise activity in processing industry and electrical energy are the biggest exporters, according to INSTAT.
In turn, statistics about import show that the biggest importers are enterprises which operate in the trade sector (whole sail and retail trade). They import about 54.9% of the total amount of imported merchandise, increasing by 8.3% since 2011.
