Bank of Albania issued a report on the performance of the tourism sector during the first quarter of this year, according to which incomes from this sector increased by 13%, compared to incomes allocated in the first quarter of 2014. In the meantime, the export of tourism services brought about EUR 262 ml to the economy says the report.
The tourism services were closed with a positive balance of EUR 44 ml and Albanians spent about 14% less in travelling abroad, compared to a year before. The report says that for traveling outside of the country, Albanian citizens spent EUR 218 ml during the first quarter of 2015.
The annual increase of revenues at this period of the year has come as a consequence of the increase of average expenditures by 7% of non residents in Albania. The number of foreign visitors has also increased, even why in low percentage (circa 1%), during the first three months of 2015.
