ELKOS Group Kosovar Company will invest EUR 7 for the construction of one of the biggest warehouses in the country, which will serve for gathering and storing agricultural products of about 10.000 farmers. The investment is established in Dushk commune of Lushnje and according to the investors, it will open more than 100 permanent job vacancies and will also employ about 300 seasonal employees.
During the inauguration ceremony of the start of constructions Ramiz Kelmendi, President of ELKOS Group declared that “this warehouse not only will meet the needs of the Kosovar citizens for Albanian bio products, but will also serve as an exchanging place for Kosovar exports to Albania as well. This warehouse will serve as a point of contact for the export of Albanian and Kosovar products to the regional countries. Our citizens are in need of jobs; our countries need to develop further.” According to Kelmendi, the annual turnover of this warehouse is expected to reach EUR 100 ml.
Present in the inauguration ceremony were also the Prime Minister Edi Rama and the MP of the area Erjon Brace. Considering this as a very important investment for the modernization of infrastructure in the agricultural sector and a huge support to farmers, Rama declared that this investment will boost the agricultural production in the area. “More than 10.000 farmers and families which are in this business will be part of a wide cooperation network which will increase their opportunities for new markets and new perspectives for employment.
The construction of this warehouse in the most known agricultural area of the country is divided in four phases and will occupy a surface of 21 square meters.
