The ambitious IAP project has gathered in a meeting the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Energy of Albania, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia Herzegovina, in Budva. The Ministers signed a supporting agreement for the Ionian Adriatic Pipeline which foresees the establishment of a Permanent Operative Unit for the compilation of a draft plan with the aim to implement the project in a short time.
The Unit will coordinate the next decisions and action plans of the four states in the implementation of IAP project, one of the most important energy projects in Balkan. At the meeting, the Ministers highlighted the support of the European Union policies in the diversification of energy resources and energy suppliers in Europe.
A big importance was also given to the TAP project which will be implemented in Greece and Albania, since, according to the Ministers the IAP project is part of the South Gas Corridor. βBalkan and European countries need sustainable and diversified energy sources,β declared the Ministers.
In this important meeting, Albania was represented by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Energy, which announced later that the present pairs in the meeting had agreed in holding the next meeting of IAP project in Albania.
