Entrepreneurs from Estonia are evaluating investing opportunities in Albania. A forum organized by the Estonian International Chamber of Commerce between Albanian and Estonian entrepreneurs and investors was held on Friday in Tirana. Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi ranked some of the key sectors that Estonian investors should take into consideration the energy sector, the extractive industry, infrastructure, agriculture and technology.
“Tourism is a potential sector where you can invest. Albania has 400 kilometers of coastline and almost 70 percent of it is not developed yet,” Deputy Prime Minister Peleshi said to the group of Estonian investors.
Moreover, Minister of Energy and Industry Damian Gjiknuri highlighted the potentials that Albania offers to foreign investors in the sector of energy.
“In terms of energy resources Albania has enough potential to become an important actor in Southeastern Europe. Currently we have a small market in the sector of energy, but we are cooperating with the countries of the region like Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro,” Gjiknuri said.
He also added that new opportunities for investments in renewable energy will be available in the future. Hence, he invited Estonian investors to take into consideration natural resources and to invest in Albania.
