A new mobile payments platform has been licensed by the Bank of Albania, as announced by this institution on Thursday. M-PESA is the newest platform for mobile payments and service offered by Vodafone company, after two years of working for this project.
M-PESA is a multi services platform that will be used by Albanian costumers for paying the bills, transferring money, to buy communication packages offered by all operators in a fast and safe way.
The new platform promises competitive prices compared to other mobile payment platform that currently operate in Albania, such as M-Pay and EasyPay. M-PESA has circa 17 million clients in four continents and Albania is the second European country where this platform is being implemented, after Romania.
The EUR 3 million investment will be used by all mobile users regardless of the mobile operator they use and the platform is available for all types of mobile phones. The platform will make possible that all clients to have an electronic deposit in their phone by which they can send or receive money from other national or international networks.
