The Albanian government has initiated talks with the Russian Federation for the removal of the embargo on Albanian agricultural products by Russia.
In the framework of issue, the Albanian ambassador to Moscow Arben Gazioni attended a meeting with representatives of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control Agency to ask for the removal of the embargo on Albanian bio products exports to Russia.
The announcement for this meeting, made by the Albanian Embassy to Moscow in their official Facebook page through an update, stresses that the meeting consisted in the commence of trade between the two countries in the agricultural sector.
Russia put embargo to the Albanian agricultural products at the end of the past year, with the excuse that Albanian products had falsified phytosanitary certificates, typed in a non Albanian printing press.
The Albanian embassy announced that the pairs agreed in accelerating the process towards a final solution of this issue through signing a joint protocol about phytosanitary and veterinary protection.
On December 8th of the past year, the Russian Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control Agency announced that Albania was no longer allowed to export agricultural products to Russia, with the pretext that Albanian products were non Albanian but products coming from other European countries and being illegally exported to Russia.
