“Operator of Electrical Energy Distribution plans to allocate about 53 billion ALL in its budget during 2015,” said the Director of this institution, Adrian Çela during the conference for the recovery of energy sector which held in Tirana. The level of looses for January decreased to 36.7%, about 10.3% less looses compared to January 2014. Çela said that prior objective is the decrease of looses to 31.5% during 2015, adding that in January OEED allocated 6.11 billion ALL, more than 57% revenues than a year before and 128% more revenues compared to January 2013.
The scheme the government and OEED applied for the reduction by 80% of arrears has helped thousands of families for the payment of outstanding debts. Since this scheme started to implement, about 137.727 agreements signed between OEED and household consumers. The decrease of network looses and the increase of revenues will be transformed into investments in order to guarantee a qualitative and secure electrical energy supply.
About 4.46 billion ALL will be invested during this year in the system of low tension network for 20 thousand clients, the installation of 40 thousand intelligent gauges, the renovation and the construction of 180 electrical cabins and 15 substations. Investments will be made also in the reconstruction of medium voltage lines 35 kW, the distribution network 20kW, in transformer cabins and in the reconstruction of 10/6 kW network. These investments will be implemented by joint funds of European Union and OEED, while a pilot project will be put in life in cooperation with USAID, which will make albe the verification of consumers, the identification of energy theft and the clearance of networks from irregular connections.
