Representatives of SOCAR, BP, SHELL and AlbPetrol companies will attend a joint discussion table organized by the Albanian Minister of Energy and Industry to discuss about the master plan that will contribute in the gasification of Albania through TAP project. The attendance of these companies was confirmed by Minister Damian Gjiknuri, after the meetings he held with the heads of SOCAR and BP companies during the Council of Ministers of Energy of South Corridor countries’ works in Baku, Azerbaijan. SOCAR Azerbaijani oil and gas company will make the feasibility study for the gasification of Albania and at the same time will be compiled the master plan of gas with the support of the European Union funds.
The concretization of the feasibility study and the compilation of the master plan are of a huge importance for Albania that will change entirely the energetic map of Albania and will contribute in country’s economic growth. The Albanian government has shown continually its support for the implementation of TAP project in country, by expropriating the land where the pipeline will be implemented by enabling the continuance of works in field for the construction of access roads.
The government is lobbying that Albanian companies assist and become part of this project as sub contractors, aiming to increase employment in the areas where this project will be implemented. The decisive agreement for the construction of TransAdriatik pipeline signed in Baku in December 2013.
