Prime Minister Edi Rama, General Director of Customs Elisa Spiropali and Minister of Finances Shkelqim Cani inaugurated the “green canal” in one of the Customs Agencies in Durres city, a platform also known as the “selection without Customs control”, applied for the first time in Albania.
This platform will reduce costs and time for businesses during Customs procedures, it will avoid every administrative barrier and physic contacts between Customs officials and business representatives.
This practice lasts only 10 minutes and will eliminate the long waiting hours for businesses and Customs administrate as well.
General Director of Customs, Elisa Spiropali declared that “green canal” and the other platform of “authorized economic operators” are considered as a revolution of Albanian Customs and the behavior and also the mentality of businesses-Customs relations. Minister of Finances Shkelqim Cani declared that this platform will ease the procedures for businesses in Customs and that both businesses and Customs administrations will benefit from it.
In turn, PM Edi Rama entitled the establishment of the “green corridor” as a very important moment which will contribute in government’s vision to improve business-government relations and transform it into partnership relation.
