Albanian Minsiter of Energy and Industry, Damian Gjiknuri, held an official visit in India with the aim to enhance economic collaboration between Albania and India. During his visit, the Minister was hosted by the Indian Minister of Energy and Oil, Shri Dhermenadra and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, General V. K. Singh.
The official visit was announced by a Ministry of Energy and Industry press release, according to which, the discussions of the meeting among high ranked officials were focused on finding new ways of collaboration and the attraction of Indian foreign investors to Albania. The most appropriate sectors at which Indian foreign investors may be interested in are the oil and gas sector, industry and energy, according to Minister of Energy, Damian Gjiknuri.
During his visit, the Minister also meet with representatives of ASSOCHAM, The United Chamber of Indian Businesses, and presented to them with the opportunities that Albania can offer and also spoke about the latest measures and initiatives the government has undertaken to improve these sectors and the business climate in country.
Gjiknuri also met representatives of โTata Powerโ, one of the most known companies in oil and gas sector. Indian high officials presented to the Albanian Minister the huge achievements of this country in the energy sector, especially in the aspect of reducing energy loses in the network. The Minister evaluated these achievements and the models applied by adding that this could be a good model to follow.
