Minister of Tourism Eglantina Gjermeni is having an official visit in France in the framework of enhancing cooperation between France and Albania in the tourism field. During her visit, Mrs. Gjermeni held a meeting with the president of Albania-France Friendship Group and president of National Assembly as well, Mrs. Viviane le Dissez.
The Minister presented in the meeting the initiatives Albanian government took during 2014 and projects planned for this year for the urbanization of informal areas, the protection of urban and rural areas from bad management, informal constructions problem and the stable development of tourism.
At first, Dissez praised the visit of Prime Minister Edi Rama and four representatives of religious communities in Albania during the March of Unity in January 11, held in Paris as a way of solidarity in honor to victims of Charlie Hebdo massacre. She also evaluated government’s efforts in developing tourism as the main source of revenues for the Albanian state.
Gjermeni also met with French Senator Alain Richard, and discussed about three mayor plans undertaken by the Ministry of Tourism in the framework of stable planning and development of country’s territory. Gjermeni presented the National General Plan, Seashore Sectorial Plan and the plan for Tirana–Durres economic area. Another topic discussed between Gjermeni and Senator Alain Richard was the finalized legal reform which has created space for a better management of territory and the environment.
