Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti and the Minister of EU Integration Klajda Gjosha, visited an olive oil production company in Tirana. During their visit, the two Ministers underlined the importance of respecting the EU production standards from Albanian companies, since this is a condition set by the EU to become a state member.
“Shkalla” factory is a certified company and internationally evaluated with several awards for the high quality of its products, since they get exported to Switzerland. The Minister of Integration evaluated the fact that the company is owned by a successful woman entrepreneur by highlighting that this model should be followed by other Albanian women. Gjosha also underlined that the EU standards must be a main priority of every producer in Albania. “The standard of Albanian products will be very soon one of the main conditions set by the EU for Albania, for the opening of membership negotiations, and the agriculture will be a very important discussion point in this process. The Albanian products will face a very harsh competition by the EU member countries.”
The Minister stressed that currently Albania does not need only qualitative equipments, but also the human resources that should be dedicated work. The Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, praised the quality of olive oil, citing it as a showcase of European standards.
