Bank of Albania has published a recent report on the amount of money foreign companies invested in Albania during the January-September 2014 period. According to report figures, foreign companies invested about 590.6 ml EUR. This amount is lower than investments from FDIs in the previous year, with 117 ml EUR investments less than 2013.
Economy experts explain the fall of FDI, with the critical situation the Euro zone economy is facing. Italy, one of the biggest investors in Albania, is officially in recession for the third time, while recent data on price developments have raised fears that the whole Euro zone could slip back into crisis.
However, referred to IMF experts, the forecasts for economic growth in Albania have not changed and the risks from the external environment to the economy have increased. The government expects to have an economic growth to 2%, while in the next year is expected that countryโs economy to grow further.
