The Supervisory Board of Bank of Albania reviewed and approved the Monetary Policy Monthly Report during the meeting of the board members on November 26th. The members also decided to decrease the basic interest rate by 0.25%, by bringing it to 2.25% level.
At the meeting was made a review on the latest developments on the countryโs economy and the expected performance in the next months.
The basic interest rate is the defined rate by Bank of Albania which keeps the inflation level at the level calculated by the bank. This interest rate plays an important role in the reflection of the monetary policy by the Albanian economy. Currently, the basic interest rate at 2.25% is at the lowest level of the basic interest rate in its history.
