The General Director of Albanian Customs, Elisa Spiropali, presented on November 24th a new compilation of simplified procedures for businesses during a meeting. The meeting was attended by the deputy Minister of Finances, Ervin Mete, deputy Minister of Economic Development, Brunilda Paskali and business representatives.
According to Spiropali, these procedures will lessen the bureaucratic procedures and reduce corruption since this measure tends to establish a new government-business relation based on reliability. Another positive side of this measure relates to the reduction of time required for procedures that must be followed in cases of trade exchanges.
“The simplified procedures are a series of customs’ actions and operations which try to avoid the classic model,” declared the General Director of Customs.
Representatives of the Ministry of Finances and Economic Development supported this initiative by saying that it will improve the business climate in Albania and lessen informality. These measures are predicted to be applied no earlier than March 2015, but the partial implementation of them will start on December 2014, by a pilot project.
