“Agriculture of the Future” has been the official logo of the regionalization map of agricultural production presented by the Ministry of Agriculture on November 21th. According to the Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, this map is approved for the first time and aims to be the basis upon which there will be compiled supporting policies and reforms for the agriculture sector and farmers.
“The organization of the agricultural production will make possible a better and more transparent rapport between farmers and the government. This map presents in a transparent way the prior agricultural products which will be supported and subsidized by the government,” stated Panariti.
Panariti highlighted the importance of the agriculture sector in the country’s economy, since it is considered as a prior sector for 2015. A new supporting package of facilitating policies for farmers will be approved soon, said the Minister.
This package foresees the increase of VAT amount subsidized by the government form 6% to 20%, and the cut of import and VAT taxes on raw materials and agricultural equipments. Even in Budget 2015, the government has increased funds for the agriculture sector by 26%, compared to 2014.
