The Assembly Speaker, Ilir Meta, attended a conference at the University of Tirana and addressed a speech to the participants, most of them students. Meta spoke about the new Budget 2015 and what this budget foresees for the country’s economy. “The new budget guarantees a 4% increase of the economy in 2015. The reforms made in the energy sector, the continuous governmental backing on the agriculture sector and the infrastructural improvement in the tourism areas, promise for a notable improvement of the economy”, said Meta.
The draft budget of 2015 approved by parliament on November 17th and this, according to Meta, is a positive indication of this expected economic revival.
“We could have predicted more facilities for the tourism sector in Budget 2015 but estimating that the government foresees many facilities in sectors of the agriculture, fishing industry and the processing industry of chrome and crude products, we couldn’t risk too much. The increasing trend of the exports in agriculture is very positive, knowing that exports for fruits and vegetables have increased in latest months. The same tendency will be noticed soon even in the energy sector, since in the framework of the undertaken reforms, the mismanagement of it will end up,” declared the Assembly Speaker, Ilir Meta.
Meta also evaluated the government’s interventions in the payment of outstanding jobs towards businesses by saying that the new budget promises for a decrease of the government’s debt.
