Minister of Tourism and Urban Development, Eglantina Gjermeni, attended the regional conference of Union of South East Europe Touristic Agencies, held for the second time in Tirana. The conference was focused on “the formation of South East Europe touristic product aiming for a joint participation in emitting markets”.
The regional cooperation, according to the Minister, is necessary for the increase of welfare and to contribute in the tourism sector, aiming to decrease unemployment. “In Western Balkan countries tourism is seen as a key factor and has received respective governments’ attention.”
The collaboration between regional countries will improve countries’ touristic image at an international level. I evaluate the contribution of the private sector in the development of tourism in Albania. Tourism representatives from Montenegro, Kosovo, Croatia, Macedonia and Albania attended.
Minister of Tourism later had a meeting with the Minister of Health Care regarding to new measures that the two institutions will undertake in the framework of a “healthy and safe tourism”.
