Minister of Finances, Shkelqim Cani, declared at the parliamentary Economy Commission that Albania may emit new Eurobonds in the international market of debt, in 2015. This measure will serve for the payment of the matured Eurobond as well as will ensure external money for public investments.
The Eurobonds total amount, according to Cani, may vary from 300 EUR to 500 EUR as Albania is seeking to debut in the international market. “We must find optimal solutions which will calculate risks and the benefits, furthermore to find the best alternative for the Albanian economy,” said Minister of Finances, Shkelqim Cani.
The draft on Eurobonds will be published by the end of November, hoping to finalize all the procedures for the allocation of the predicted amount. By emitting new Eurobonds in the next year, we aim –added Cani, to increase the government’s ability to grant credits for domestic businesses. Albania became part of Eurobonds market for the first time in October 2010, by selling 300 million EUR Eurobonds at a rate interest of 7.5%.
