Albanian Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti, and president of AIA Pietro Salcuni, signed an agreement of collaboration between the Albanian government and AIA – Italian Livestock Breeders’ Association.
The main objectives of the agreement relate to the creation of a genealogical book and an economic data book for this sector and also a computerized system for the administration of these data. Other goals forecasted in the agreement relate to the creation of a Genetic Bank of Germoplasm and the establishment of a National Bureau for the certification of products in the zootechnics sector.
AIA and Albania will make joint research on European financial resources in order to implement programs that will help in the improvement of animal race and their wealth being. The modernization of zootechnics sector, Β the sustainable development and performance of zootechnics economy are other important aspects that need improvements.
The two institutions will work on the establishment of an inspection program in order to evaluate and rate the quality of products in this sector, and also in the application of a quality rating system based on the European Union standards.
For the realization of these goals, the Ministry announced the creation of a work group in order to execute the predicted programs by respecting the deadlines. The agreement consists in long term collaboration between Albania and AIA.
