The sixth Session of the Albanian-Austrian Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation held in Albania, in the framework of the Economic Diplomacy. The two-day event took place in Tirana, on October 20th-21th , under the under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economic Development.
The Albanian delegation was headed by Brunilda Paskali, deputy Minister of Economic Development, whilst the Austrian delegation was chaired by the General Director of Foreign Economic Relations in the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy, Mr. Franz Wessig.
The delegations shared information regarding their respective countries related to the current economic situation and the latest developments on various economic sectors. The main points of the discussion focused on mutual interest between the two countries and cooperation opportunities, aimed at increasing Albania-Austria economic collaboration.
The Austrian delegation promised to assist in the further improvement of SME’s policies, and to support Albania on developing prior economic sectors such as transport and infrastructure, tourism, environment, professional education, ICT, energy and mining, agriculture, social welfare, etc.
At the end of the meeting, the heads of both delegations signed the Protocol on Economic Cooperation, which will serve as a guarantee for concrete collaboration between Albania and Austria. The delegations decided the next session of Joint Commission to be held in Vienna, next year.
