The violence that followed during the Albania-Serbia match may affect the Albanian economy and diplomacy as well. Former Minister of Finances Arben Malaj, declared in an interview by Scan Tv that after the abandonment of the Albania-Serbia match due to clashes between the teams, the trade exchanges between the two countries may decrease. This situation may cause problems for the economy of other regional countries, said Malaj.

Even why Serbia is not a main partner of Albania regarding exports and imports, the tensioning of relations between Albania and Serbia comes only a few weeks before the start of Conference of Berlin.

After harsh statements made by senior Serbians after the abandonment of match, the Albanian Foreign Ministry has sent a note of protest to the Belgrade government, by bringing back the shadows of a “freeze” of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
