Velipoja beach is well known as one of the most important touristic spots in northern Albania, speaking for blue tourism. It is located in the region of Shkodra and each year hosts many tourists which spend their vacations in a clean beach as Velipoja.
This summer season, it was noticed a considerable increase of tourists, and as the summer season has been closed for 2014, local governors of Velipoja have announced the start of the preparations for the coming summer season of 2015.
With the support of the Development of Regions project, a 36ml ALL fund has been allocated to Velipoja commune. In the framework of this investment in the tourism sector, Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected the undergoing works for the improvement of road infrastructure in the Velipoja commune. “The aim is to transform this beach into a social and economical area that will support the Shkodra Municipality,” said PM Edi Rama.
This 36ml ALL fund will be used for a total transformation of the road infrastructure that connects the commune with Shkodra Municipality and is expected to boost tourism and develop the economy of the Velipoja commune.
