Albanian Confindustry will make an official request to the government with the purpose to revert the flat income tax at the rate of 9-9.5% for all sectors that exercise their activity in terms of a fair competition.
The move of AC was announced through a press release at which, the General Administrator of the Albanian Confindustry Gjergj Buxhuku declared that current figures by large businesses show that the change with two points of the income tax (7.5-15%), which entered in law in 2014, has increased the pressure for small businesses by causing problems in the financial transactions. This leads to a new level of the fiscal evasion from the bottom to the top for the entire national economy, according to Buxhuku, by causing negative effects in the increase of unfair competition.
The Albanian Confindustry claims that the proposed flat income tax at the rate of 9-9.5% resets in equal terms the competition of Albania in the region with the aim to attract foreign investments, since this is the rate of income taxes in the most regional countries.
