The increase of consumption and private investments have affected in the improvement of the country’s economy, according to the latest report by Bank of Albania. “Financial stability and the performance of the bank system in Albania in the first semiannual of 2014” report shows a positive performance of the main sectors of the economy except the construction sector.
During the first trimester of 2014, the economic activity increased by 1.65% in annual terms. This increase has influenced in the relative improvement of the domestic demand, although experts say that this trend must remain stable in order to have a positive influence in the labor market.
According to Bank of Albania, on June 2014, the annual inflation decreased by 1.5%, by reflecting that the production capacities of the country have not been exploited at their maximum. At the end of the first semiannual of 2014, the fiscal indicators showed that Bank of Albania maintained a consolidated fiscal policy, by increasing incomes and decreasing the money on expenditure.
Forecasts for an improved economic activity of the country’s main trading partners until the end of the year, will positively affect in the increase of external demand for domestic exports.
