Israeli businessmen continue to show their interest to invest in Albania. The Israeli ambassador in Tirana, David Cohen, met with the Mayor of Durres city, Vangjush Dako and discussed on new ways to extend the Albania-Israeli collaboration. The main topics highlighted in the discussion were the further exchange in trade and culture fields as well as the attraction of Israeli businessmen to invest in Albania.
The mayor of Durres described the city and the Port of Durres as one of the most important economic areas of the country and with a high influence even for the development of regional countries. Dako presented the Israeli ambassador in Tirana to some aspects of the cultural heritage of Durres and its ancient history, the current development stage and the future plans regarding infrastructure and economic development. Another aspect discussed in the meeting was the touristic aspect of the portual city of Durres, as according to Dako, the city offers many types of tourism and it’s a priority field of investments by the local government and foreign investors as well.
In turn, the Israeli ambassador David Cohen, expressed its pleasure to visit Durres city and to know more about the historical and cultural background of it. The relations between the two countries will extend further in the future, he added, particularly in the economic sector since Israeli businesses are interested to invest in Albania. Cohen also visited the Port of Durres and some local businesses.
At the end of the meeting, Dako gifted a picture to Cohen, with the symbol of the “Beauty of Durres” mosaic and a book with a detailed information regarding the historical and cultural heritage of Durres.
