TIRANA, November 5
The Albanian government has lowered its 2019 forecast for economic growth to 3.4 percent from 4.3 percent before, Minister of Finance and Economy Anila Denaj reported to the Parliament on Monday.
The minister said that the lower GDP growth forecast will come with less income in the state budget. Yet, she added that there is no change to forecast on debt and budget deficit indicators. According to Denaj, lower electricity generation and the gambling shutdown had an impact on economic growth.
The government aims to keep the budgetary deficit below 2 percent and the government debt-to-GDP ratio at 64 percent.
