Being one of the most important harbors in Albania, the Port of Durres has a great potential for a further development. The port has triggered interest to the Dubai Port Authority, one of the hugest ports in the world. In this respect, a delegation of the DP World, headed by the president of the company, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, arrived in Albania and had a meeting with the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Edmond Haxhinasto, on September 22.
The discussion of the president Sulayem and the Minister Haxhinasto focused on the collaboration opportunities between the two countries, mainly for the sea transport sector. On his part, the Minister Haxhinasto emphasized the good and friendly relations between Albania and the United Arab Emirates. During the meeting, the Albanian part presented to the Dubai delegation some of the ongoing projects in the field of infrastructure as the Eighth Corridor and the latest projects on railways and several ports in Albania.
The Dubai delegation will have a two day stay in Albania and their visit will conclude after visiting the port of Shengjini.
