National Agency of Natural Resources has undertaken a control of the mining activity of several companies in the territory of Albania. This action has been followed so far by fines for all companies which didn’t respect the law, for not issuing periodical reports and for not depositing the guarantee for the rehabilitation of the environment.
There are more than 182 mining permissions proposed to be revoked, while 90 permissions have been revoked so far. NANR will identify and take measures for the definitive liquidation with subjects that haven’t paid the guarantee of the rehabilitation, according to the declarations of this institution.
According to the official report of NANR, the total amount of non paid money is circa $870.000 but despite that, many subjects that exercise their activity in the mining sector have fulfilled their obligations regarding the annual reporting for the Work Plan. Making comparison to the previous year, the percentage of the annual reporting by these subjects was at 38%, but during 2014 the percentage increased to 74%.
National Agency of Natural Resources has announced that in the upcoming days will start the official procedures for the revocation of permissions for all subjects which do not present the programme for the renovation of these permissions issued by NANR.
