TIRANA, June 7
The parliament has requested recently to the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP) to find a solution for the incoming calls that many customers receive regarding offers related to telemarketing (offers to buy a certain item or allegedly about winning a lottery).
Also, the parliament has requested to AKEP to make a report about the activity that the latter had during 2018. AKEP is required to start a register titled ‘Do not call me’ based on international practices, to regulate the activity of telemarketers, that make undesirable telephone calls to private individuals. The scheme of registration will enable the users to ‘opt-out’, meaning to not receive incoming calls from the telemarketing companies.
Also, there are other requirements made to AKEP such as: to take measures in order to guarantee the safety and integrity of the networks, and the services of the electronic communication services in accordance with the National Agency for the Cybernetic Safety (ALCIRT) regarding the identification of the possible cybernetic threats and the notification of the operators in time to take immediate measures.
The Parliament has brought to the attention once again the matter related to the aerial cables or those built in electrical columns and the common use of the infrastructure, as it still remains a problem, says the resolution.
