TIRANA, March 13
The Albanian Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) informed on Wednesday that all operations of Boeing 737-8 and 737-9 Max aircrafts are suspended in the Albanian airspace. Hence AAC joins the decision of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
The agency pushed an Airworthiness Directive on Tuesday suspending all flight operations of all Boeing Model 737-8 MAX and 737-9 MAX airplanes in Europe
AAC explains that the decision follows the tragic accident of Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 involving a Boeing 737 MAX 8.
Moreover, AAC informs that the ban will be in effect for an indefinite duration, up to the subsequent directives by EASA.
“AAC informs the citizens that no such aircraft operates in any of the scheduled flights from or to Mother Teresa International Airport. In order to join EASA initiative, AAC formalized the release of a notice to airmen (NOTAM) by Albcontrol,” the announcement issued by AAC says.
