Ministry of Energy and Industry has announced the compilation of a new law in regarding the electric energy sector, which will provide changes in the market model and aims its further liberalization. This new law is expected to provide opportunities for the restructuring of public companies of this sector, in accordance to the European standarts.
Starting from 2015, the liberalization of this market will include businesses, whose activities are connected with 35 kW power lines and want to exit from the distribution system.
This liberalization policy aims to extend its impact and bring changes even for businesses which supply from 10 kW or 20 kW power lines. If this process will turn out successful, in the next two years, circa 30% of the energy market will be liberalized in which businesses will ensure by themselves the electricity.
These changes in the energy market is expected to have an impact in the increase of private investments in this sector and a more regular liquidity for public and private energy providers.
Three years ago, big industrial energy consumers which were connected with the high voltage, consumers as cement factories and heavy industry factories, disconnected from the traditional supply system. Nowadays, they ensure by themselves the private supplier and as this policy resulted successful, this predicts a positive future for the liberalization of electric energy market in country.
According to the Ministry press office, this draft law will be consulted with interest groups before passing in parliament.
