The crude sector is the most important sector of the Albanian economy in terms of contributions that this sector provides to the state budget. According to official sources from National Agency of Natural Resources, this institution is compiling a new regulation to define control and audit methodologies. Also, a new electronic system project is undergoing in order to monitor and audit the hydrocarbon settlements, a system that is expected to increase the transparency of this process by making it accessible at any time from the NANR website, by any interested party.
The database will store documents dating from 1928. This large archive is unique and contains only technical – scientific information that Albanian state owns in connection with research and discoveries of oil and gas in the territory of the country. The digitalization of this archieve will be an important step not only for its safe storage but also to exchange it with interested parties.
According to the official data, the crude oil production for the period January-May 2014 compared with the same period in 2013 increased by about 61,000 tons, almost 12% more. The regulation for the determination of deadlines of handling procedures and the issuance of authorizations for hydrocarbon operations. The reduction of time to service and the receipt of this authorization into 5 days is a new facility for companies.
