TIRANA, October 19
Turkey plans to increase its share of investments in Albania. A joint agreement between both countries was signed in the frame of the official visit of Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu. The agreement foresees joint meetings of the Albanian and Turkish governments and the establishment of a mutual economic committee. More investments are expected in the future in the sectors of agriculture and tourism. Cavusoglu highlighted during the meeting with his Albanian counterpart Ditmir Bushati that agriculture, energy, and infrastructural projects in the sectors of air transport, education and healthcare are considered areas of great potential.
On his part, Bushati pointed out that Turkey is an important economic partner of Albania. Currently, there are over 10,000 Albanians employed by Turkish companies while the total investment value reaches up to 3 billion dollars. The value of trade exchanges is estimated Euro 411 million while the main goal is to reach Euro 1 billion.
