TIRANA, June 8
Trade, direct investments, cooperation in the tourism sector and other areas of shared concern were discussed during the 9th Session of the Joint Economic Commission between Albania and China held in Ningbo. Albanian Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Albana Shkurta and the Chinese Deputy Minister of Commerce Fu Ziying led the joint meeting. The joint commission is an important opportunity for consolidating cooperation results and for further potentials of expansion. The meeting aims at encouraging tangible cooperation in important sectors including the agro-processing industry, tourism, etc.
At the same time, both sides are paying attention to increased cooperation in the infrastructure sector in order to further consolidate trade and economic relations. The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Albania to China Selim Belortaja and representatives of Albanian ministries.
Albania and China have seen a steady increase in the bilateral trade volume while China remains one of Albania’s main trade partners.
In the meantime, Albanian products were showcased during the 4th China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo in Ningbo.
” Albanian products are always very highly appreciated by the Chinese customers. Soon an agreement will be negotiated w/ Inspection and Quarantine to facilitate Albanian exports in China,” Albania’s Embassy in China announced in Twitter.
