Flight prices are soon expected to drop. This was confirmed by the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, Krislen Kerri during an interview for Vision Plus TV on Friday. He explained that the expansion of the low-cost carriersโ capacity will cause prices to fall. According to him, the increased number of charter flights to Albania shows that the country is an attracting destination for airlines.
He highlighted the negotiations on Vlora Airport between the Albanian authorities and the Turkish company are expected to start soon. In the meantime, another foreign company is expected to express interest in Kuksi Airport.
Based on the data provided by Tirana International Airport, there are 16 airlines that operate flights to Albania. The list includes Adria Airways, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Tuiy, Lufthansa, Aegean Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Blue Panorama Airlines, Air Serbia, Albawings, Mistral Air, Transavia, and Volotea.
Some 17 out of 29 direct flights connect Albania to Italian cities, where a considerable number of Albanian migrants live and work.
