TIRANA, February 22
Czech entrepreneurs are interested in investing in Albania especially in tourism and agriculture sectors. This was confirmed by representatives of Czech companies attended Albania-Czech republic business forum that was held on Wednesday in Tirana. This business forum aims at establishing and sustain further cooperation in the business sector and the good political relations between both countries are potential for closer economic cooperation.
Speaker of the Albanian Parliament Gramoz Ruci said that the reforms undertaken so far especially the justice reform are a guarantee for foreign investors.
We welcome the interest of Czech companies in the sectors of energy, industry, road and rail infrastructure, agro-mechanics, agriculture, tourism, and construction. Tourism is one of the key sectors for cooperation with the Czech Republic,” Ruci said.
On his part, President of the Czech Senate, Milan Stech highlighted cooperation opportunities in the agriculture and tourism sectors. He said, that Albania is a country that produces high-quality fruits and vegetables. Moreover, he added that Czech people love to travel and explore the world, and Albania has a lot to offer in terms of tourism and adventure travel.
Currently, the stock of Czech foreign direct investments to Albania is Euro 52 million while exports to the Czech Republic reached Euro 17 million in 2017. A memorandum of cooperation between the Albanian and Czech businesses was signed during the forum.
