TIRANA, November 27
The new national airline, Air Albania that is expected to launch during the upcoming year with the support of Turkish Airlines plans to start daily flights that connect capital city Tirana to cities in the region, EX-YU Aviation News lately reported.
Exyuaviation.com quoted Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, who said that the initial flights will connect Tirana with Podgorica, Pristina, Sarajevo, Skopje, and Zagreb. Hence, Air Albania will help to further strengthen regional connectivity.
Currently, Albania serves none of these destinations. The Albanian capital is connected to Ljubljana in Slovenia via Adria Airways and Belgrade via Serbia Air respectively with ten and six weekly flights. Both routes have been successful and provided high volumes of connecting traffic.
