Economic activity in Albania marked improvement. This was said by Governor of the Bank of Albania (BoA) Gent Sejko during the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in the United States during October 13-15. Sejko held several meeting with leading personalities in global finance during the two-day event and made a presentation of the economic situation in Albania.
He highlighted that the most important indicators of the financial performance of the banking sector improved overall and show stability. Sejko also added that BoA will provide all the necessary support in order to accelerate economic growth and stimulate the economy.
On their part, the representatives of IMF and the WB praised BoA’s role and its contribution to the developing country’s macroeconomic stability. Moreover, they stressed that structural reforms are crucial for improving the business climate and attract more foreign investments in Albania
